Case Study - Wokinabox

The Challenge: Wokinabox wanted to introduce digital menu boards as an alternative to traditional static menus.  As a quick-service restaurant, the attraction to digital for Wokinabox was:

 

  • The convenience of being able to update menu items across multiple stores from a central web portal,

  • The ability to disrupt customers’ routine food orders and upsell  new items with engaging digital media, and

  • The opportunity to use moving digital media to lift the theatre and atmosphere of the restaurant and attract passer-by foot traffic.

 

In order to be a success for Wokinabox, the digital menu board solution needed to:

 

  • Provide options to either control content from head office or locally on location.

  • Quickly & easily manage changes to content.

  • Feature current hero promotions.

  • Deliver highly engaging content and an appealing yet easy to read menu design.

  • Set different content for different restaurants or regions.

  • Be robust and reliable to operate long hours in a commercial kitchen setting.

  • Be cost-effective and fit within a tight budget.

 

The Solution: DAT Media delivered to Wokinabox an end-to-end digital menu solution for their new flagship restaurant in the Brickworks Centre in Adelaide:

The Outcome: Andrew Pearce, Wokinabox National Marketing Manager explains the outcome of implementing digital menu boards with DAT Media: 

 

"Wokinabox at Brickworks Marketplace, marks the nineteenth store to open in South Australia, adding to the list of more than 30 stores across the nation. This store marks the new look of Wokinabox and showcases digital menu boards and digital signage, a first for any Wokinabox store. The new digital menu boards provide a fantastic digital solution to effectively showcase Wokinabox’s full range of products and available add-ons. With these improvements in the menu boards and point of sale display, Wokinabox expect to increase bottom line profits as a result of the new digital solution.

In ordered to collate the job at hand, Wokinabox tendered the project out to various companies within Australia to provide a complete digital signage solution. DAT Media were leaps and bounds ahead of the pack in all aspects that Wokinabox were looking for. A team from DAT Media came down to Adelaide to meet with myself and our SA regional manager to get an understanding of the brand and our needs. This was the first point I realised that DAT Media offered a great point of difference when compared to their competitors, their service!

 

This high level of service continued and even after the project was completed; DAT Media still strived to ensure that Wokinabox was more than 110% happy with the overall outcome.
